2010 Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir

2010 was August West's 9th vintage since we began making wine in 2002, and it all started with Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir. In spite of the new look to the August West label, the flavors that come from Rosella's are incredibly consistent, year in and year out. 2010 was the coolest growing year we've seen at August West, but luckily, time was on our side and we were able to wait patiently until fully ripe flavors developed at Rosella's. This took until October 16, our latest picking to date for Pinot Noir.
The 2010 August West Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir is very similar to our 2008 with its deep concentration of ripe berry fruit and fine tannins. Upon release this 2010 Rosella's is fairly closed, but with aeration it opens up to reveal the spicy aromas so typical of Rosella's. Put the 2010 Rosella's in the cellar for a few years if you'd like, and you'll be rewarded with what could be one of our finest Pinots yet.
