2011 Rosella's Vineyard Syrah

As is always the case with our Rosella’s Vineyard Syrah, it was produced using 100% whole clusters, meaning stems and all.  We thought about destemming at least part of the wine in 2011, since it was such a cold growing year and the stems weren’t quite as evolved and ripe as usual.  But we went with our tradition, and the resulting wine turned out remarkably round and not overly tannic.

 

The 2011 August West Rosella's Syrah is made up entirely of the Bien Nacido selection, more commonly known as the Estrella selection.  It always gives us a deep, peppery, raspberry flavored Syrah that has the potential to last 15 years or more.  We anticipate the drinking window of our 2011 Rosella's to be between 2016 and beyond, at least until 2026.
