2014 Rosella's Vineyard Chardonnay

Our 10th and final vintage of Rosella's Vineyard Chardonnay was another successful one.  It comes from the Dijon clone 76 block that August West has worked with since 2005.  Although the drought had taken hold in many vineyards in 2014, we didn't see any adverse effects at Rosella's, as the fruit quality was as high as ever.

 

As we've done in almost all of our Rosella's Chardonnays, this 2014 was fermented in neutral French oak, meaning the barrels are not oaky anymore.  We get the textural benefits of barrel fermentation in the wine, without the "buttery" and toasty flavors.  The signature tropical flavors of Rosella's comes through on the nose and the palate in this warm and ripe vintage.  Enjoy the 2014 Rosella's from 2016 through 2020.
