2016 Peterson Vineyard Pinot Noir
In Stock
The Santa Lucia Highlands needed a season of soaking rains, and the winter of 2015-2016 provided relief to the four years of drought. The dry spell wouldn't be officially over until 2017, but '16 was a move in the right direction. The Peterson Vineyard lies in the heart of the SLH appellation, just south of the town of Gonzales.
The 2016 Peterson Vineyard Pinot Noir is an excellent example of the spiciness Pinot can achieve in this region. The cool climate cranberry and strawberry flavors are apparent on the nose, with brilliant acidity on the palate. This wine should reach its peak in about 5 to 7 years, so enjoy the development from 2019 through 2025.
